Jesus, The Firstfruit Offering

Updated: Feb 27

Jesus, the Passover Lamb and the Firstfruit Offering

As we celebrate Passover week we recall the biblical accounts of the sacrificial lamb, a pure spotless lamb and the amazing story of how the Hebrews were protected from judgements of Egypt, including the last judgment, the death of the first born. With the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of their homes, the death angel passed over their homes and their families were protected, but the Egyptians, without the blood of the sacrificial lamb on their homes, suffered loss. This is a week of celebrating God's goodness and His promise of not a little lamb to be sacrificed for a household only, but to celebrate the Messiah, the Son of God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

This year the celebration of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the First Fruits coincide, with Resurrection Sunday capping the week. In all these celebrations, we see Jesus - the Sacrificial Lamb, the Unleavened Bread of Life, the First Born of God, who died and rose from the dead making way for all who believe in Him and accept His sacrifice to be forgiven and receive everlasting life.

This is a perfect time for you to receive Jesus as your Savior and the Hope of your life. God loves you and has an amazing life for you to step into. "If any one be in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things are passed away and all things become new." 2Corinthians 5:17

You can pray this simple prayer right now:

"Father, thank You for loving me. Jesus thank You for dying for me and forgiving me of my sins. Come into my heart and make me the person You want me to be. Amen"

Where is Jesus now? If you're not sure, pray the prayer again.

He loves you and will stay with you for all eternity!

If you prayed that prayer and received Jesus today, please let us know so we can be praying for you, get to know you, and can send you a gift to remember this special day with. And if you have any questions, we are here to help. Please email us at prayer@csaministries.com or leave us a message at 1-844-756-2278. We look forward to hearing from you!

Jesus is the Firstfruit offering.

“Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal.” Exodus 13:2

When God was giving instructions to Israel to prepare them for the Promised Land, He tucked within His commands glimpses of things being done in a heavenly way. Within God’s commands we can now see prophetic pictures of His plan for the Messiah. The firstfruit of the first born was one of these. It is a picture of Jesus, the first born to Mary.

According to the commandment, the first born was to be sacrificed or redeemed. It could only be sacrificed if it was perfect, otherwise it had to be redeemed. Only a perfect lamb could be sacrificed and its blood atone for the sins.

God puts claim on the first born “Whatever opens the womb” God says “it is mine, it belongs to me.” Jesus was the first-born of a woman, born of a virgin. He was also the only begotten Son of God, the spotless Lamb of God.

“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world”, John the Baptist proclaimed.

God did not wait until we were good enough to send His only begotten Son to be the sacrifice for our sins. It was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us.

Jesus, designed by God to be the perfect sacrifice for us so while we, being imperfect, could be forgiven and redeemed by the life of the perfect, sinless One. What a Savior!

“This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.” 1John 4:10 TPT

Prayer

Father, thank You for such a wonderful plan You created in the firstfruits. Thank You for giving us Your own firstfruit offering, Your only Begotten Son Jesus - a perfect sacrifice to redeem us from darkness and despair. We receive Your perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. Thank You that You have transferred us out of a realm of darkness into Your kingdom of Light and Truth. Thank You Jesus for dying for the sins of the world, including my sins 2000 years later. What a wonderful Savior You are!

And, Father, Just as You gave Your Son for me, I dedicate my family, my children to you, especially my first born. I thank You for the salvation, healing and deliverance of my entire family. Everyone who is attached to me by blood and by name, I sanctify them now to be set apart for you. I pray for the revelation of the love of God, the salvation of God and the power of God to come to each one of them.

Decree God's truth:

I, and my family, are redeemed through the sacrifice of God’s perfect Lamb, Jesus Christ.

All our sins have been forgiven. I am clean, as if I had never sinned.

Jesus, I receive You and the gift of life You give to me.

Just as You took my sin which was not Your own, You now give me Your righteousness which I did not earn. I am righteous in Christ. Thank you for the amazing gift of righteousness and eternal life you have given to me.

My family is sanctified by my faith and my children are called holy.

I call them disciples of God.

All my children will be taught of the Lord and their wellbeing will be great.
