If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two. Matthew 5:41 (NIV)
I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. Philippians 12:13,14 (TPT)
What a day we are in. Ever since we entered this new decade of the 20’s it is like we entered a warfare of new proportions than what we have ever known before in our lives.
For any of us who have eyes to see we certainly know it is a time to press in and pray and to intercede for those we love, our families, our friends our communities, our nation and the nations of the world. We need to have our ear to the ground and our spiritual ears open to the Kingdom and what we are hearing from the Holy Spirit.
Recently I was watching Kevin Zadai and I heard him speak on an experience he had when he had died and went to heaven. When he was there he experienced a moment of regret, when he saw how close he had come to praying for someone’s breakthrough, but he just had not pressed in enough to see it actually manifest. He could see when he was looking down from heaven that many miracles would have happened if we did not give up praying when we did for many situations. That in many cases we were falling short. This really hit me when I heard that. He went on to say that this would be the one regret we all would probably have. I thought to myself we can’t have that. This is certainly that hour and that season to go the extra mile in prayer and to press in for our loved ones and situations and just hit that target a bit sharper and not to give up so fast.
Upon this renewed passion for deeper, intentional prayer, I knew it was urgent to pray a little harder. I began to be more intentional about my prayers and praying into situations a little longer. I began to target my tongues and to pray in tongues just a little longer. We have to be a people that actually pray through until we know we do not have to pray any longer for those situations. We actually need to see the manifestation of the answer or solution to our prayers or feel the release in our spirit or until God says to stop. Imagine how much more we will accomplish in prayer because we are going to be determined with compelling focus of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory prize for others and for ourselves.
Join me in going the extra mile and running straight for that invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and getting the victory prize. This is what love looks like.
